The homeowners chose to include a dining room on the first floor of their addition, and on the second floor, a luxurious master bath.

Airy Transitional Kitchen in Merion Station, PA

In a combined effort, Gardner/Fox and Glenbrook Cabinetry updated this 1915 Colonial home’s dysfunctional kitchen, to give homeowners the space of their dreams. Gardner/Fox removed an obtrusive beam in the center of the room and reworked the structural elements to create an open-concept space. Glenbrook Cabinetry designed and filled that space with transitionally designed cabinetry, which included an island, pantry wall, bench seating storage, custom range hood, and functional organizational elements. The renovation additionally included the installation of a new bar and updating of an existing powder room.

Ultimate Man Cave Basement Renovation

Gardner/Fox created this clients’ ultimate man cave! What began as an unfinished basement is now 2,250 sq. ft. of rustic modern inspired joy! The different amenities in this space include a wet bar, poker, billiards, foosball, entertainment area, 3/4 bath, sauna, home gym, wine wall, and last but certainly not least, a golf simulator. To create a harmonious rustic modern look the design includes reclaimed barnwood, matte black accents, and modern light fixtures throughout the space.

Timeless Traditional Colonial Home Renovation

Sophisticated Eat-In Kitchen Renovation

Gardner/Fox combined this 1958 home’s compact kitchen and dining room to create this sophisticated eat-in kitchen. From the wood-look tile floors to the custom stainless steel range hood, this kitchen boasts elegant style with modern details.

Rustic Chic Basement Renovation

In this renovation Gardner/Fox created a rustic-inspired retreat, in what was a dated, seldom used basement. The new space is full of inviting, organically textured features, like the natural stone fire place surround, COREtec flooring in Rustic Pine, and wood wrapped support beams. Each feature was chosen carefully with durability in mind.

Mid-Century Modern Kitchen Renovation

Inviting and warm, this mid-century modern kitchen is the perfect spot for family and friends to gather! Gardner/Fox expanded this room from the original 120 sq. ft. footprint to a spacious 370 sq. ft., not including the additional new mud room. Gray wood-look tile floors, polished quartz countertops, and white porcelain subway tile all work together to complement the cherry cabinetry.

Inviting Transitional Kitchen Renovation

In this inviting transition kitchen, Gardner/Fox combined the clients’ 95 sq. ft. kitchen with their dining room to create a roomy eat-in kitchen. Complete with an island, the kitchen now includes plenty of space to accommodate multiple chefs in the kitchen! To create a more contemporary look the space includes marble tile, a custom wood wrapped range hood, and a modern matte white refrigerator with brass hardware (designed to match the rest of the kitchen). Further work in this project includes the transformation of an unused office to a mudroom, pantry, and basement access. The new mudroom includes custom cubbies and a bench from Glenbrook Cabinetry.

Classic Contemporary Home Renovation

In this classic contemporary home renovation, Gardner/Fox expanded the client’s galley kitchen to create a contemporary white kitchen, family room, and mudroom. The renovation boosted the overall functionality while promoting socialization and flow through the space.

Sleek Master Bathroom Renovation

Homeowners wanted to create a sleek master bathroom, consistent with the design of their recently renovated home. To create the necessary square footage, the design combined the original master bathroom with a neighboring closet. This additional space became the new glass enclosed shower, with a custom quartz bench, glass hexagon grey mosaic floor tile, and Persian white marble herringbone accent wall. The new modern floating vanity provides ample storage as well as his and hers sinks.

Charming Architectural Treasure

Gardner/Fox designed this 3,500 square foot Cape Cod style home in the heart of Devon, PA. The interior of the home includes 4 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, loft, elevator, and patio entertaining space with a pool. Architectural detail highlights include coffered ceilings, back to back flagstone fireplaces, and craftsman style features throughout the design.

Crisp & Clean Home Renovation

In this project Gardner/Fox took a segmented first floor plan and created an open concept entertaining space and guest suite. New construction includes a family room addition, guest suite, wet bar, hall storage, mudroom, and a three car garage. Interior renovations include a farmhouse style kitchen and rustically detail dining room.

Beautiful Backyard Paradise

The goal of the addition was to create an area where the family could gather and relax and enjoy the outdoor season. This included a sunroom, scratch resistant Azek deck, and a stone terrace with low garden wall.

Historic Wayne Home

This historic home renovation was completed with the rejuvenation of the family’s back yard. A beautifully refinished pool, as well as landscaping and a porch create a lavish entertaining space perfect for parties or lounging.

Award-Winning Historic Restoration

As part of a larger renovation, this patio was renovated with new flagstone flooring and half wall, as well as an outdoor fireplace.

Rejuvenated Backyard Space

Gardner/Fox created a new patio and renovated this family pool to create a new space for entertaining.

Rustic Villanova Barn & Gazebo Construction

A wide open lawn provided the perfect setting for a beautiful backyard barn. The home owners, who are avid gardeners, wanted an indoor workshop and space to store supplies – and they didn’t want it to be an eyesore. During the contemplation phase, they came across a few barns designed by a company called Country Carpenters and fell in love with the charm and character of the structures. Since they had worked with us in the past, we were automatically the builder of choice!

Tuscan Inspired Kitchen & Patio Renovation

After a knock out kitchen renovation, these home owners decided to continue the renovation into the back yard. Through the new French doors Gardner/Fox created a covered wrap-around entertainment deck, completed with an outdoor fire place.

Country Pool House Renovation

The existing small pool house, which was situated on a 7-acre property in horse country, did not live up to the beautiful backyard pool it was meant to compliment, nor did it relate to the architectural style of the existing main house, a 19th century colonial farmhouse. The goal for the Gardner/Fox team was to create a social space where the family of six could gather & entertain friends. The homeowners desired a kitchenette area, shower, laundry and changing room.

Classic Pool House & Garage Construction

Gardner/Fox provided design and construction services to complete new construction of a mixed-use detatched garage and pool house. The new structure houses a two car garage as well as a kitchenette, bath, changing area, and second floor media room. The custom pool side features a built-in stone fireplace/grill with an outdoor dining area nestled beneath an open-trellis. Pricacy fencing and attractive landscaping surrounds the pool area.

Gardner Barn Renovation

Gardner/Fox completed a renovation and expansion to this rustic barn. The new space is complete with a second story, expanded footprint, and all new, more durable, exterior.

Traditional Sunroom & Patio

Gardner/Fox completed design and construction of a custom sunroom addition, pergola, and walled patio to a 5-year-old Main Line home.

Custom Pergola Construction

A patio and custom pergola create the perfect outdoor space for this Rosemont home.

Modern Patio Construction

The final touch on a multi room renovation in this architectural treasure on the Main Line, this covered porch provides everything for a perfect space. The screened in patio includes a fire place, television, and surround sound.

Rustic Inspired Porch

Gardner/Fox created a warm place for entertaining in this covered porch construction. The project stemmed from the large kitchen renovation, with the client wanting to expand their overall entertaining space. The rough-hewn oak beams were installed to match the rough-hewn timber beams used in the kitchen renovation. Gardner/Fox also installed a copper roof and gutters for the desired rustic feel of the space. The fully retractable Phantom screes allow for the structure to be open or closed, depending on the season. One of the most important features is the durable and maintenance free materials used in construction, such as: Hardi Plank siding, natural stone veneer, and stucco.

Traditionally Rejuvenated Pool House

A 1,400 square foot pool house complements the architecture and site lines of the main house and also functions as a small guest house. An expert master plan and landscaping helps the new structure to blend seamlessly into the well established neighborhood.

Rural Landscape Masterpiece

The challenge of this landscape was to create a low maintenance pathway over a steep back yard and existing pool area. The approach needed to be seamless with the colors and textures of a rural farm. The solution was to create a path using rough bluestone slabs to bring individuals through the experience of ornamental grasses, perennials, and native shrubs.

Farmhouse Kitchen in Philadelphia

A small kitchen and misplaced laundry room merge to accommodate a more open layout and enhanced storage for a Philadelphia home. To begin the renovation, the Gardner/Fox construction crew completely gutted the existing kitchen and laundry room. We fulfilled the client’s wish for a more accessible laundry area by creating a custom niche in the (simultaneously renovated) master bath. The removal of an interior wall and fireplace separating the two rooms necessitated the installation of two steel beams to support the weight of the masonry chimney that remained.

Elegantly Modern Kitchen

This Main line home was in desperate need of a makeover. On the top of the homeowners “Wish List” was a new kitchen & breakfast room that takes better advantage of the views, and had easy access to a new backyard patio. The Gardner/Fox team omitted the dated peninsula and created an open floor plan, with larger windows at the sink area, and a set of French doors that lead out to the new large patio area. The new kitchen plan also included a new 8′ cooking island with a built in cooktop and seating area for guests.

Warm & Inviting Media Kitchen Renovation

Gardner/Fox designed & developed a master plan for a new larger kitchen/breakfast area located towards the rear, which would feature lots of windows and glass doors that would open onto a new patio area. A new larger dining area and butler’s pantry that would include a built in hutch and wet bar. Gardner/Fox also included design of a new staircase connected from the kitchen to the new Hobby/media room on the lower level which includes a kitchen and stadium seating area with leather recliners to watch movies & sporting events. Custom built in cabinets were created for the home owner’s extensive sports memorabilia collection.

Award-Winning Historic Kitchen

Situated in the heart of Wayne, this historical French Tower House was once used as a dormitory for the Valley Forge Military Academy to which it is adjacent. Originally built in 1921 this magnificent home offers plenty of character, including architecturally designed archways & curved walls, stained glass windows, brick walkways & beautiful gardens. Struck by the home’s charm & character, our client purchased the home & immediately began renovations to optimize it for modern living.

Stylish White Kitchen

The undersized kitchen in this Main Line home was in desperate need of a makeover (it sported extremely dated white metal cabinets before). The owners wanted a more functional kitchen that would reflect the charm of their older home. The architect responded with a reconfigured floor plan and an 8’ x 21’ addition along the back of the home. Because today’s kitchens are not just for cooking but for gathering too, the architect added a breakfast nook and a central island with ample seating. Crisp white cabinetry, grey marble countertops and white oak flooring combine to create a sophisticated yet relaxed kitchen suitable for a young family. A new mudroom and powder room are conveniently located right next to the renovated kitchen.

Modern Kitchen Renovation & Expansion

Before the renovation the dated kitchen was crammed into one corner, had a shortage of cabinetry and countertop space, and led to a cluttered work area. The entire kitchen was rearranged to include more storage and a central island. New stainless steel appliances were introduced to give the space a modern feel, as well as black granite counter tops, and white-glass front cabinetry.

Modern Philadelphia Townhouse Renovation

During this townhouse renovation the Gardner/Fox design team reconfigured the first floor plan to move the kitchen to the front room and built a family room in the back. Swapping the spaces accommodates a more functional workspace in the kitchen, complete with an island and dining area.

Luxurious Transitional Kitchen

This transitional kitchen renovation incorporates classic design with a few modern twists. The uniquely colored cabinetry accents the honed marble countertops, as well as the marble backsplash. The hanging pendants above the kitchen island give the space a classic charm.

Farmhouse Kitchen Renovation

Gardner/Fox renovated this small and dated kitchen and dining room to create a space full of personality! Combining the two rooms and building a central island provides better flow and more counter space. The vaulted ceiling and sky lights allow plenty of natural light to permeate the space, helping the overall room to feel larger.

Tasteful Kitchen Expanding Renovation

The design and construction of a new kitchen, mudroom and powder room brings modern amenities to a brick Colonial style home in Drexel Hill. The five food addition for the remodeled kitchen and mudroom addition stretches along the full width of the house. Backed with 3” bead board, new wood floors and a new glass door, classic wood cabinets and a built in bench seat with hidden storage provide attractive organization in the mudroom. In the kitchen, elegant classic white painted wood cabinets contrast with the island base in an espresso finish. A built in desk area with glass front cabinets solves another storage and organization issue.

Historically Tasteful Kitchen Restoration

Gardner/Fox earned the inaugural Radnor Township Historic Preservation Award for the historic restoration of this Horace Trumbauer designed Shingle Style Victorian. The kitchen portion of this restoration borrows colors and details in keeping with the flavor of the rest of the home, including leaded glass cabinet fronts and period accurate light fixtures. A keyhole window above the sink opens to the parlor, thus creating a site line all the way through from the front yard to the rear patio. The back wall was opened and the kitchen extended to include a small family den and breakfast area overlooking the new rear patio.

Transitional White Kitchen with a Twist

Gardner/Fox designed and developed a master plan for this house that would renovate multiple rooms on multiple floors, while maintaining the historic integrity of the home. Although traditional finish styles were used, the home was updated to provide everything needed for the 21st century family.

Bright & Airy Condo Kitchen Renovation

Our homeowners had originally purchased their condo as a temporary space, and decided to stay a bit longer. The space was segmented, and had poor flow for guests. During the renovation, we showed our clients how a few well placed pocket doors and entryways could create an open floor plan. The new space has clear sightlines from the front of the home to the back, and lets in plenty of natural light. The new space friendly kitchen was updated with all new stainless steel appliances, countertops, and bright cabinetry, not to mention the matching island!

Transitional Kitchen Renovation

The original kitchen, dining room, and patio areas were divided by walls, each small and dark. This renovation combined the three spaces to create clear site lines through the back of the home. The new expanded kitchen includes a modern marble topped island, with plenty of space for company, as well as more cabinetry storage and beautiful chandelier.

Rustically Detailed Kitchen Renovation

This renovation furnishes its owners with a welcoming space for entertaining friends while paying respect to architecture of the house. The expanded kitchen promotes a connection with the new porch and patio and allows the owners to entertain friends and family with ease.

Classic Renovation on a Contemporary Kitchen

The client purchased a contemporary home but dreamed of updating it with classic style. Since the home offered plenty of space, it just needed new finishes. The kitchen naturally required the most dramatic changes, both functionally and aesthetically. The architect re-worked the floorplan to nix an awkwardly angled peninsula in favor of a large central island. Floor-to-ceiling cabinetry offers an abundance of storage and reflects the client’s sophisticated transitional style. The opening to the dining room was relocated and a new opening from the kitchen to the living room was created.

Traditional Kitchen Renovation

Gardner/Fox removed the kitchen’s existing cabinetry and appliances and redesigned the layout to be more suitable for the needs of its new owners. Their request for an island with casual seating provided a focal point in the new plan. The enlargement of the existing opening between the breakfast room and kitchen allowed the new cabinetry to extend into the eating area for better access. Traffic flow improved as a result of the removal of a half-wall separating the kitchen and family room. Final finishes such as the white cabinetry and neutral color scheme freshened up the dated interior, resulting in a space that is bright and friendly.

Sleek Modern Kitchen Renovation

A dark, dated kitchen gets an expanded footprint and crisp, white finishes with clean lines and touches of stainless steel for a bit of an industrial/modern look.

One-Of-A-Kind Kitchen Renovation

The existing ballroom in this 300 year old home was converted into a kitchen. Custom coffers and multistage crown molding house up-lighting and indirect lighting that illuminate the space and showcase the detailed millwork overhead. To project even more light, the homeowner selected White Carrera marble for the backsplash. On the right side of the kitchen, a custom-depth wall of pantries houses a message center and conceals the microwave. A built-in wainscot area over the range and transition wall provides even more architectural details. A track and rolling ladder provides access to the upper cabinetry that reaches all the way to the 12-foot ceiling.

Country Kitchen in Philadelphia

Warmth abounds in this custom tailored kitchen renovation situated on Delancey Street in the heart of Philadelphia. Earthy and inviting soapstone countertops and creamy cabinets mix surprisingly well with the urban feel of the stainless steel apron front sink and appliances.

Modern Kitchen Renovation and Expansion

Before this modern update, this small Philadelphia kitchen had limited storage space and a measly island. The new modern space includes ample storage space and a custom built waterfall island, with a built in sink.

Dreamy White Kitchen

In this project, Gardner/Fox tore down the existing 1 bedroom ranch on this Delaware property and constructed a massive five bedroom home. The new kitchen boasts ten foot ceilings, which allowed us to install massive full height windows, for plenty of natural light. The brilliant white cabinetry provides the homeowners with plenty of storage, as well as beautifully accents the marble backsplash.

Glamorous Traditional Kitchen Renovation

Before the renovation, the tiny kitchen literally had no upper cabinets and the counter tops were lined with small appliances and other necessary kitchen gear. The spacious new kitchen provides plenty of functional storage and the countertops remain clear for prep and clean-up activities, thanks in part to a 12-foot center island. Natural light flows into the breakfast room through a new bay window whose dimensions match the existing. The existing kitchen now serves as a casual sitting area adjacent to the addition. A built-in cabinet located in the original breakfast room was taken apart and re-built in the mudroom addition.

Light & Airy Country Kitchen Renovation

The farmhouse kitchen renovation included all new cabinetry, appliances, and a custom built island to meet our client’s storage needs.

Award Winning Classic Country Kitchen

Gardner/Fox designed and constructed a family room addition and kitchen renovation to a Main Line colonial revival home. A 14-foot island provides seating and houses a warming drawer, microwave and copper sink. Eight-foot French patio doors open to a flagstone patio. The refrigerator and freezer are concealed in a freestanding custom furniture piece.

Complete Colonial Home Renovation

The owners of this 1950s colonial on Philadelphia’s Main Line wanted to preserve its traditional architecture and take advantage of the kitchen’s ample footprint. In addition to reworking the floorplan and improving the flow, the owner wanted a large island with several seating options, a desk area and a small table for dining.

Transitional Kitchen with Classic Charm

This renovation puts a modern twist on a classic kitchen. The new space uses bright white cabinetry and gray marble countertops to help feel larger, not to mention the beautiful tile backsplash.

Transitional Country Kitchen

When a Main Line family of four realized they had outgrown their 2-story colonial in Wayne, they decided to renovate. The comprehensive renovation included a second-story addition above the garage and a vaulted family room addition at the opposite end of the home. A larger kitchen was built to facilitate small and large gatherings. A large central island has plenty of seating for everyone, as well as custom cabinetry with plenty of storage throughout the space.

Modern Award-Winning Renovation

Complete renovation and restoration of a unique 1958 modernist home on the edge of Fairmount Park. Solid stone walls, expansive walls of glass and a low-pitched roof characterize this dramatic, modern home originally designed by Montgomery and Bishop. A half-century of exposure to the elements had taken a toll on this wonderful home, and even though the home was ahead of its time in 1958, the new homeowners wanted to incorporate some 21st century lifestyle modifications into the renovation.

Traditional Kitchen Renovation

Gardner/Fox provided design and construction services to complete an elegant family-friendly kitchen remodel and family room addition. The family room features a stone masonry fireplace with custom cabinetry and mirrored elliptical windows. Built-in cabinetry houses the television and provides discrete storage for things like toys and media equipment. The custom arched entryway between the kitchen and family room matches the home’s original arches. The family also requested a mud room and landscaped patio to facilitate the children’s play.

Transitional Mocha Kitchen

Gardner/Fox provided interior design and construction services to remodel a kitchen and breakfast area and add a family room to a historical Colonial home in Ardmore. The remodeled kitchen opens directly into the spacious family room addition where ceiling-height custom wood cabinets painted white surround a stone fireplace. The kitchen features custom wood cabinets in a classic contemporary style with an espresso finish that continues into the custom build L-shaped bench seat of the breakfast nook. The bench provides handy storage drawers hidden beneath attractive custom cushions in Crypton fabric.

Transitional Farmhouse Kitchen

Gardner/Fox gave this kitchen remodel a layered & lived in look with the use of wide plank flooring, a hand distressed island based, along with a honed Calcutta Macchi Veccia marble top. Hand Painted cement tiles over the Lancanche Range create a rich vintage look, that fits the homes casual elegance.

Clean & Classic Kitchen Renovation

Before the renovation, a peninsula separated the kitchen and breakfast room, making both rooms feel smaller. The peninsula was removed and a central island installed instead. Moving the doorway left room for the fridge at the other end of the kitchen. The resulting space feels much more spacious, even though the square footage remains the same. Creamy new cabinets, quartzite countertops, a paneled refrigerator and glass globe pendants polish off the kitchen with modern-day style.

Fun & Fresh Kitchen Renovation

Using the space formerly occupied by the family room, Gardner/Fox removed an interior wall to double the size of the existing kitchen. The expanded kitchen accommodates a large central island, white cabinetry, semi-professional appliances, oak flooring, and a casual breakfast area. The aforementioned family room found a new home in a seldom-used screened in porch that was enclosed with fantastic new windows. Expanding the kitchen by creatively reworking the floorplan allowed the client to invest money in a small addition to the rear of the home for the new family room in the former screened-in porch. The renovation also incorporated updates to the home’s exterior. The result: plenty of bang for their buck!

Timeless Traditional Kitchen

Combining the dining room and kitchen gave Gardner/Fox the space to give this family plenty of storage and better flow around the kitchen. The classic white cabinetry is topped with a unique polished granite that compliments the wall color. The overall outcome of this renovation was an eat-in kitchen with plenty of room for all.

Crisp Modern Kitchen Renovation

Gardner/Fox provided architecture and construction services to create a two-story addition. A kitchen and breakfast room fills the first level of the addition with a master suite above. French doors in the kitchen open to a new patio at the rear. The master suite features a vaulted ceiling and balcony overlooking the lawn and rose garden. The tiny existing kitchen was converted into a bathroom.

Award-Winning Shingle Style Victorian

Gardner/Fox earned the inaugural Radnor Township Historic Preservation Award for the restoration of a Horace Trumbauer designed Shingle Style Victorian. Construction included a new two-story addition, garage, and historically accurate replacement of all interior and exterior finishes and fixtures.

Century Old Home with 21st Century Renovation

Thoughtful reconfiguration of interior spaces and circulation allowed a 107-year old residence to be sensitively updated and satisfy the daily needs and functions of a 21st century family of four. Subtle exterior design details synthesize a century of architecturally unfortunate additions, while long-term decisions insure a new beginning for this historic structure. The renovated spaces include the master bathroom, kitchen, 3 car garage, sitting room, sun room, and office.

Transitional New Home Construction

After purchasing a multi-acre lot with a small ranch home, our clients decided to make better use of their space. The original house on the property was torn down, save a brick chimney, and in its place stands a beautiful new 6,200 square foot home. Construction included a loft, 4 bedrooms, master suite, 4 car garage, flagstone entertaining patio, and a completed basement!

Colonial Home Reboot

In this gut renovation our clients decided to create their perfect space. This began in the kitchen, by expanding the space, installing all new cabinetry, a custom island, and removing a half wall which split up the kitchen and family room. Additionally, the entire first floor received new flooring, plumbing, lighting, wall coverings, built-in storage, and gas fire places. On the second floor, 4 bedrooms were renovated, as well as their adjoining bathrooms. The master bathroom was expanded and refinished to include a glass enclosed shower and built in storage. The final touch was the closet, created in the unused attic, within the master bedroom.

Contemporary Sitting Room

An all new modern sitting room and garden room bring life to this Paoli home. The gorgeous green sitting room is complimented by the coiffered ceiling and custom built fireplace surround. The new garden room is complete with gold fixtures, a full wall of storage, and unique wall tile that compliments the lily pad wallpaper.

Contemporary Wet Bar Construction

This multi space renovation project included the home owners master bathroom, kitchen, basement, and wet bar. The beautiful new wetbar includes custom cabinetry, a drink refrigerator, and wine chiller. In the all new basement, we created a man cave paradise: movie theater seating, wall storage, and a bathroom.

Comfortable Classic Family Room

This classic living space was part of a larger, multi room, renovation. Our clients wanted to create a more refined and put together room. Gardner/Fox installed storage, a gas fireplace with a custom surround, and new windows. GFA Interiors helped complete the space with new furniture and window treatments.

Rustic Inspired Family Room

This full home renovation began on the first floor, by flipping the entire layout of the space around. Moving the stairs into the kitchen allowed us to create a dining area, adjacent to fireplace sitting area. The full living room is complete with wide windows for plenty of natural light and exposed wood beams, to incorporate our client’s taste for organic textures into the space. Finally, a full bathroom and murphy bed were installed to create a spare guest space.
