We’re finally here! The big reveal! If you would have told me in May that our powder room would look like this in 8 weeks, I’m not sure I would have believed you. Before we unleash our purple beast, I did want to touch on a few final decisions I made.
If you recall in our last post, I was undecided about the column that we purchased Life’s Patina. I tried painting it in a shade that (I thought) would pull out the seafoam color in our Limerence wallpaper, but it just didn’t work (and it REALLY looked like mint ice cream). I decided that the white it had originally come in would work, but I didn’t want it to get lost in the wainscoting. Then I thought about black, but because the shadow from the cabinet blocks most of the light from the corner, I was concerned that it would be too dark and would not get the appreciation it deserved. Ugh! Decisions… As per usual, I decided to ask the audience and did an Instagram poll. The people voted for black, so out came the paint, and I cannot say I’m upset with how it turned out.
Side note: You know when you find a recipe online and they give the whole back story to how they got the recipe, and how they tweaked it, and how much their family loves it, etc.? I feel like I’m writing that section of the post right now, and I just want to get to the main event AKA the final photos. But we have one more exciting detail to discuss.
Since we had some extra time to get our final photos shot (thanks ORC!), I had time to get my window treatment! Ah! I was so worried it wasn’t going to be in on time, and then hubby couldn’t even use the bathroom, but it did! It was fabricated and installed a few days early, so we can show you the wholly completed space, details and all. I’ve had this little tassel floating around the room that I love, but I just couldn’t figure out how to work it into the design…well, wonder no more! It’s now my non-functioning pull on our new roman shade. I’m giddy about it.
Now, drum roll please..welcome to our completed powder room!

Behold all of her purple and brass glory! This was such a wonderful experience, thanks to everyone who has been checking out our One Room Challenge. We appreciate all of the support and comments. Thanks to the ORC itself for hosting this event each season. Be sure to check out all of the other participant’s projects as well, click here or the photo below!
