  • Bath Renovation

Gardner/Fox recently had the chance to renovate this beautiful home in Malvern, PA. The transformation is truly remarkable (it also helped that our client had fantastic taste)!

Gardner/Fox opened and brightened up this modern kitchen with a few different tricks. First, the client’s breakfast bar was removed and replaced with a much larger island that extends the length of the kitchen. All of the interior design selections such as the cabinetry, the built in stove, golden faucet, and sink basin enhance the modern look. The removal of the overhead cabinets created space for extra windows and contributes to a more spacious and open feeling.

Our favorite details? The intricate tile back splash, reminiscent of flower petals and the unexpected golden inlay on the herringbone floor.

The homeowner chose to transform the original humdrum mudroom into an eye popping garden room. We absolutely love every detail, from the emerald green glazed porcelain tiles to the gleaming golden sink fixture (are you sensing the theme yet?) and bold lily pad wallpaper. Not pictured are tiered pantry doors that provide a modern styled storage solution for the small room.

The renovation brought a custom look to the living room with the addition of a new fireplace and mantel with a low profile coffered ceiling and recessed lighting above.

During the second portion of this renovation, Gardner/Fox helped to create this serene master bathroom. A few of the key features in this project were the custom lava stone bathtub, custom his and hers vanities, and a glass enclosed shower. The scale-shaped tile really pulls the calming blue hue through the whole bathroom.

Our history

This business, like many small businesses, evolved from a friendship between two ambitious young professionals. Brook Gardner, an engineer from Virginia, and Mark Fox, an architect from Kentucky, discovered a common interest in designing and renovating buildings when they became neighbors in Center City, Philadelphia. They founded their own design and consulting firm in 1987, which has grown into Gardner/Fox.
