For February’s project spotlight we’ve picked out a project that we absolutely love.

When our clients moved into their new space over the summer, they knew that the first project they wanted to tackle was the compact kitchen. The clients envisioned a large eat-in kitchen, with updated finishes, more storage space, and surface area.

Before the renovation, the kitchen had a footprint of only 160 square feet, while the spacious dining room took up about 220 square feet. Since our clients were interested in expanding their kitchen, it made the most sense in this renovation to combine the two spaces. The end result is a sun light filled, elegant, eat in kitchen!

From small and dark to big and bright! This glamorous new space is outlined with frameless cabinetry with brass fixtures, which accentuate the new pendant lighting over the custom built island. To create a totally seamless look, the client’s dishwasher even received an upgrade, with a matching cabinetry overlay. Every piece of cabinetry in this project, down to the hardware details, was designed by Glenbrook Cabinetry. To get all the info, check them out here.

Our clients wanted to create an elegant and inviting space, so to avoid a traditional white kitchen, we included a few modern touches. To start, instead of the usual porcelain subway tile, we used polished marble tile in a parquet pattern. This subtle detail adds shine and luxury appeal to the design. To address the durability factor, we used Cloudburst Concrete Caesarstone, which is an ultra matte quartz, designed to resemble concrete.

One of our favorite features in this space is the floor! It’s important to include durable and easy to clean surfaces in any kitchen, because accidents do happen. Which is why this tile floor is the perfect solution! It evokes warmth, while the herringbone pattern adds to the overall modern design, and you can forget about stains or future warping because it’s tile! Win-win-win!
