G/FA did a wonderful job on our renovation and addition. First, the actual work was very well done, and G/FA follows through on each aspect of the work until it is completely finished. Second, G/FA is extremely professional from the design process through the last bill; everything in writing and agreed-upon in advance, no surprises on their end. Third, all the folks at G/FA we worked with were pleasant, friendly people--which in a multi-month project becomes an increasingly important factor. When you get the design and contract proposal from G/FA, you may think the price tag high (and you are free to shop their design around to other contractors for the build phase). And there are a lot of fish in the sea, so maybe your uncle's buddy could do the same job for less money. Who knows. But, among other things, what you get from G/FA--with all of their documenting, billing for work in place, warranty, etc.--is an essential elimination of risk. You'll sleep well at night, and the job will get done right. In this line of work, G/FA is as close to a sure thing as there is.
