Spring Mill Road, Villanova - The Gardner/Fox construction crew removed a bedroom and two bathrooms to renovate a walk-out basement in a four-year-old Villanova home. The homeowners worked with Gardner/Fox architect Damian Kelly to create a renovation plan, relocating a powder room and bar, to create an entertainment room that runs the entire length of the basement.
A sitting area and plasma television occupies the center of the space with a billiards table, adult lounge, wine cellar, and a complete home theater by World Wide Stereo at the far end. The basement's main attraction is the addition of an adult lounge consisting of a cherry paneled cigar room with a smoke eater and a barrel vaulted stone wine room. The cigar room's distinctive cabinetry and coffered ceiling was designed by Dave Stimmel of Stimmel Design Group.
