Gardner/Fox was selected as the Construction Manager for the HMS School's new Dormitory Addition and Renovation project. Located in the historic Philadelphia neighborhood of Spruce Hill, the HMS School is a campus of linked
buildings offering educational opportunities and therapeutic programs for both resident and day students, ages 2 to 21, afflicted with motor impairments or other disabilities resulting from cerebral palsy or traumatic brain injury.
The project included new dormitory rooms and nursing facilities on the first floor and administrative offices on the second floor. Gardner/Fox expanded the existing cafeteria and converted existing dormitory rooms into classrooms. The project also included the installation of a new elevator, stairs and wheelchair ramps.
