Delaware County, Pennsylvania - Gardner/Fox provided construction management services for a new Welcome Center on Interstate Route 95 at the Pennsylvania/Delaware border. The new building houses administrative offices, a public reception desk, display cases and information cabinets. The new facility was constructed around the existing active Welcome Center. The modern design aesthetic integrates unique interior and exterior structural geometry with butt-glazed glass wall and clerestory windows. Filled and polished exterior masonry block is accented with a ceramic tile band. Cedar plank was used for interior and exterior walls and soffits. The project also included a complete subsurface drainage system.
